Professor Layton Coming To 3DS

by

Nintendo have announced that Professor Layton will be coming to the Nintendo 3DS in Professor Layton and the Spectre’s Call.

Professor Layton and the Spectre’s Call is packed with brand new puzzles that will challenge and delight both hardcore Professor Layton fans and fans that are new to the series. Set three years before the events of Professor Layton and the Curious Village, the story follows Professor Layton and how he met his soon-to-be trust assistant Luke. Players will also be introduced to Emmy who is Layton’s female assistant. She is keen to work with Layton and discover the mystery behind the Misthallery spectre. Solving more puzzles means getting closer to cracking the mystery.

Driven by the animated charm and hand-draw art that has featured in previous Professor Layton titles, this game will offer brand new content such as brand new minigames  and all new episodes to unlock. Each episode will give players an insight into the characters that you meet along the way.

The three new minigames consist of layomg a train track for a small model train to pass through all the stations and reach the goal, or juggle verbs to get the right performance on stage. The third new minigame involves you guiding a fish around an obstacle course to collect golden coins.

Although this one is sure to please all Professor Layton fans, this is surely the perfect time for new fans of the series to jump straight in. It is to be noted that although the game is coming out on the 3DS, it will not have 3D compatibilities and will play in 2D.

Professor Layton and the Spector’s Call is set to be released for the Nintendo DS, DSi and 3DS on November 25th.
