PS4 cross-play is now open to all developers

You’d beta believe it!

PS4 cross-play has been in beta for a little while now but it looks like it can finally be enabled for any game that a developer deems fit. Although I’m sure it’s not quite as simple as that. Anyway, starting from now, game developers can have the option to include cross-play for PS4 titles which means Xbox, Switch, PC and PlayStation gamers will soon be able to play together! It’s finally happened – the unification of gamers. Hereby ends all console wars!

This isn’t strictly tied to new games either. Should a developer want to enable cross-play for an older game, they can do so via a patch, so expect big games such as Minecraft to take advantage of this in the coming months.
