The next-gen battle is officially hotting up and it has been revealed that Sony’s PlayStation 4 (PS4) is currently outselling Microsoft’s Xbox One 2:1 in the pre-order battle.
It has been revealed by ConsoleDeals.co.uk (Article) that they have taken more than 2x the pre-order for Sony’s upcoming next-generation console than Microsoft’s. With £80 separating both consoles, is it purely just the price tag that many are switching to the PlayStation 4 rather than the Xbox One.
Phil Jones, owner of ConsoleDeals.co.uk stated the following:
The overall power and performance between the two consoles is very similar, and with a smaller range of unique IPs [games] available on Xbox One, and an inflated price compared to its competitor, we are seeing gamers leaning towards the PS4. Xbox fans were understandably frustrated to find out that they would not be able to use or share second hand games with their friends. They felt that Microsoft were punishing the very people that keep the gaming industry alive. Following the backlash, Microsoft retracted these unpopular policies, but the damage was already done.
