PSN Data Breach Brings 55 Lawsuits Against Sony

by

Oh dear, it just seems to get worse for Sony.  It seems that Sony will be facing 55 class-action cases as a result  of the PSN Hacking/Data Breach fiasco of April, according to Reuters.

One of Sony’s insurers, Zurich American, has asked a New York Court to rule that they do not have to defend Sony from the claims.

Zurich claim that their policy with Sony covers “bodily injury, property damage or personal and advertising injury.”. They state that the claims made against Sony do not cover any of the above.

The data breach, which caused the shut down of the network, effected some 100 million users and may have resulted in the hackers obtaining the credit card information of 12.3 million users.
