It has today emerged that Reef Entertainment have secured the rights linked to the popular Rambo movies starring Sylvester Stallone, and are to create a video game based on the action blockbusters.

The game has no yet been officially named, but is sure to capture every bit of immense action seen in the films. It is currently in development and will come out for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. It is expected to be released during the final quarter of 2012.

Following today’s reveal, Greg Lewis (the Commercial Director of Reef Entertainment) stated the following:

“We have big ambitions for Reef and the Rambo IP is the first step in establishing us as a worldwide player.”

Speaking about acquiring the license, the Reef Entertainment CEO Peter Rezon added:

“With the success of the most recent Rambo film, and an international appetite for action movies with Expendables 2 scheduled for release next summer, we felt now was a good time to do something special with this licence,”.

Following the huge success that the films had, do you think Reef Entertainment can make a game that can live up to the Rambo name? As always, let us know your thoughts.
