Resident Evil Revelations 'Blood Swimming Pool' To Open in London

To mark the upcoming release of Resident Evil Revelations, Capcom are set to open the first ever blood swimming pool in the shadow of the Olympic stadium, London,

If that’s not gory enough for you, the floats that will be on offer come consisting of  human torsos, feature brains and intestines as lane markers, have Zombie lifeguards on duty and even offer a diving board in the form of a ‘freshly killed human corpse’.

Those who visit and use the pool will see themselves  joined in the bloody red coloured water by terrifying sights like: floating eyeballs complete with tendrils and drifting blood clots. Whilst the dreaded swimming-pool-floating-plaster-situation we remember from our school days will be made even more disgusting with the use of bloody bandages. Zombie lifeguards will be on duty ensuring safety and enforcing a unique set of zombie pool rules. Zombie pool rules prohibit brain eating, bleeding or limb shedding in the pool. The public will need to collect any commemorative game merchandise they wish to keep from the bottom of the diseased pool, which will also be littered with bottles of both the T-Virus and Anti-Virus vials.

The blooded pool comes set against the backdrop of abandoned cruise ship Queen Zenobia, where much of the action in Resident Evil Revelations takes place, with elements recreated in an East London canal side location.  All the expected swimming pool facilities will be provided on site with a bloody twist, and Capcom advise those who are not a fan of blood splatter on their towels bring their own. Brain swimming pool caps will be provided to all those who wish to swim in the pool with blood splashed goggles also available for loan.

It comes holding a whopping estimated 55,000 gallons of water which would of taken the blood of f 11,327 individuals. The pool can be found just a short stroll from Hackney Wick Station. It will be open for 2 days on May 25th and May 26th. The blood red water has been created using a secret mixture of non-staining colorants specifically developed for the installation. People over at 16 years of age can use the pool however those under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Tickets will be free and people can claim them starting on May 20th at 9am. There will only be 100 tickets available for each day. The tickets can be claimed here. Speaking on the blooded swimming pool, Adam Merrett, UK PR manager for Capcom stated:

“Capcom are thrilled to able to create the world’s first blood swimming pool. Zombies have been kept very busy lately doing a variety of PR stunts, so rather than do the expected, we wanted to give them some time off for canal side relaxation in London. To non-zombies, the swimming pool will be shocking, gory and an incredibly disturbing experience – the perfect way to show that survival horror is back with a bang for Resident Evil Revelations”
