Robin Confirmed As Playable Character In Batman: Arkham City

by

After much rumour and speculation, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Entertainment have today confirmed that Robin will be a fully playable character in the new and improved challenge mode in Batman: Arkham City.

The Tim Drake version of the Boy Wonder is currently available exclusively to North American gamers who pre-order the game from Best Buy on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 or PC. Robin will equipped with his own unique gadgets and special moves, and will be playable in all challenge maps in the game, as well as two additional challenge maps that are included with the pre-order pack – Black Mask Hideout and Freight Train Escape. The pack will also contain a bonus Red Robin character skin.

Does this mean Robin will somehow find his way into the story mode as well? Either way, let’s hope this pre-order pack is made available to gamers outside North America as soon as possible, because playing as Robin in the challenge mode sounds like it could be a whole lot of fun!

Batman: Arkham City is set to be released in North America on October 18th and in Europe on October 21st. If you want to know more about the game, keep an eye out for our E3 2011 impressions of the game, which are due to hit NGB very soon.
