As promised last week, Rockstar Games has today released the first Max Payne 3 trailer for your viewing pleasure.
Whilst the footage shown in the trailer looks impressive, it seems like Rockstar are moving well away from the film noir inspired theme of the first two games in the series. According to the successful publisher, Max Payne 3 is “a dark, gritty action experience that is sure to satisfy newcomers and fans to the historic franchise”. Interesting, very interesting.
Sam Houser, founder of Rockstar Games, had this to say following the release of the trailer:
“Max Payne 3 gave us an amazing creative opportunity to evolve one of our most iconic characters. “We’re excited to show fans a modern version of Max that pulls them back into his dark and twisted story.”

Max Payne 3 is set to be released sometime in March 2012 on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.
