Reports are stating that SEGA has ditched plans to a Bayonetta sequel by stopping development of the highly anticipated, Bayonetta 2.
A report over at Spong states that they have been informed through a reliable source that the title has been cancelled and Bayonetta 2 is no longer in development. This is a huge blow, not only to developer Platinum Games, but fans of the series too.
The report also suggests Bayonetta 2 was set to feature a new character in the form of a member of the US military, hinting at that the game was in the process of being designed. It seems that the reason for the cancellation (if indeed true) is down to SEGA’s restructuring of their business due to huge losses and staff lay-offs within the company recently. SEGA responded to the rumours with a blunt, “no comment.”
