SEGA Pull Out Of Gamescom 2010

by

News has been reported today that SEGA have decided to pull out of appearing at this years Gamescom show in Cologne due to what they are calling a “purely commercial decision”. Im very suprised that this has happened as SEGA have various big titles being released later on in the year including, Sonic 4 and also Vanquish.

The news of this announcement was reported by Eurogamer.de and SEGA said the following regarding the reasons for not attending Gamescom 2010 –

“Despite huge success on the SEGA GamesCom 2009 and the Europe-wide importance of the Cologne exhibition SEGA has decided not to be represented this year with a stand,” it says.

“This decision has no way to do something with the Cologne and does not mean that SEGA will no longer participate in future on the grounds – the non-participation is purely a commercial decision for the year 2010. GamesCom remains for us the most important European industry event. “

Thanks again to Eurogamer.de for the article.

Gamescom 2010 takes place in Cologne, Germany on August 18th-22nd.
