EA have officially announced The Sims 4 for consoles. As expected, The Sims 4 will also be released on PS4 alongside Xbox One this November.

The Sims has been absent from consoles for quite a while now with the last in the series, The Sims 3: Pets, appearing on PS3 and Xbox 360 back in October 2011. Whilst the console scene has been dead to The Sims, The Sims 4 was released on PC and Mac back in 2014 with a bunch of subsequent content and expansions released over the following years. The Sims development has, however, been a bit rocky over the last couple of years. The Sims studio merged with Maxis in 2014, shortly after which the Maxis team was downsized, leaving players unsure about the fate of The Sims. This would lead to the assumption that The Sims was slowly being cast aside sealing a fate of that similar to Old Yeller (spoilers). But we all know about that bitch assumption, right?
Well, good news Sims fans as The Sims 4 has been spotted on the Xbox Live store, available for Xbox One, to be released on November 14th. The product listing, which can be seen in full below, gives a little insight into the game although not a huge amount. What is clear, however, is that it doesn’t look like The Sims 4 Xbox One Edition (tentative title) will be stripped of any content with noticeable mentions of being able to build houses and travel to different Worlds. Then again, they obviously wouldn’t advertise the game as a lesser product than the PC/Mac version, of course.
There has been no official announcement from EA yet but we’re pretty sure this leak will spark an official response shortly. There’s also no mention of the game on the PlayStation Store but I’d be surprised if The Sims 4 didn’t appear on the PS4 too.
