Sony to launch new PSP application for sports fans

by

Sony and Arsenal Football Club have teamed up to offer fans a unique service that will allow them to watch replays and other great features while at matches. The Emirates stadium’s Wi-Fi connection will allow PSP users to check instant replays that are streamed wirelessly to their PSP’s once they have the application installed on their PSP’s.

The application is known as Arsenal TV Matchday and although it’s not free, it’s a £10 one time only download and that’s it. No hidden charges at all which is pretty good for what you get with this service by the sounds of it. The application will show replays from different camera angles and also feature slow-motion options, live match statistics, team sheets and Arsenal player profiles and pre-match video content and Arsenal.com editorial news aswell.

“Sony is constantly looking at ways in which technology can benefit both the fan and the Club”. “Our work with Arsenal is truly a world first and we believe that it will set the standard for live event experiences,” said Mark Grinyer, Head of Sports Business at Sony Professional.

It is also being looked at if this will go into other sporting venues as the company are very interested in doing so.
