
2k Games have announced that a free playable demo for their upcoming shooting game, Spec Ops: The Line is now available for the Xbox 360 (Gold Subscribers) and PlayStation 3. The demo will be free for all members of Xbox LIVE on May 15th.
Players will be introduced to the brutal action and combat which Spec Ops: The Line has to offer. The single player narrative comes within Dubai after a series of cataclysmic sandstorms cuts the city out from the rest of the world. Players take on the rolw as Captain Martin Walker and engage in action packed firefights whilst in the search for Colonel John Konrad and his missing battalion, The Damned 33rd. The demo will offer two early chapters to give players just a taste of what to expect once the full game is released.
The squad-based action in the game comes with an intelligent squad command system that lets players to tactfully take out their enemies as they get into the heart of Dubai. Players will be shooting their way through dangerous sandstorms whilst having an vast arsenal of weapons and explosives. Even sand can be used as a weapon in order to strategically bury enemies that come into their path. The game combines intense action with a riveting narrative and the unique setting of a sandstorm ravaged Dubai making it a unique experience that no other military shooter can offer.
Also, the game offers an expansive, class-based multiplayer experience that will be perfect for both casual and hard core gamers. The multiplayer experience offers squad-based games and offers stunning visuals and unique environments where players can use their sand-filled surroundings in order to defeat their enemies. The environments however, can turn from advantageous to dangerous in a second with the onset of sandstorms. This can impact visibility, team communication and weapon handling.
