SteelSeries Siberia V2 Headset Review

My what sweet sounds you have…

When it comes to online communication, especially in relation to gaming, you need a headset that gives you crystal clear sound and a microphone that picks up even the slightest whisper. That is exactly what the SteelSeries Siberia V2 provides you with, and we’re here to tell you why.

The Siberia V2 is compatible with the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Mac and PC, so if you want a headset to use online with your consoles, or during video calls with your family, it may well be the perfect solution for you. The microphone can be pulled out, so if you don’t want to use it, you can simply pop it back in and not look ridiculous whilst listening to music on your iPod. The actual headset itself is very comfortable, which is great if your gaming online for long periods of time. It fits very well over your head, but if you’re thinking about taking it out in public, a word of warning, they are quite big so you might look a bit silly wearing them on the train!

That very minor issue aside, the clarity of the sound is quite simply amazing. When playing online, you’ll be able to hear other gamers so clearly that you might even think they’re sitting next to you. Thanks to the Live Mix feature you are also able to adjust the sound to suit your preference. You can set the adaptor to hear more sound from the gameplay, sending any other audio into the background. Do the opposite and any communication will overpower the sound from gameplay. The audio is pristine and extremely difficult to fault, it’s rare to find a headset that delivers sound with such clarity.

Some people might find the headset a little tricky to set up, but as long as you follow the instructions provided, you shouldn’t encounter any major issues. Simply plug the headphone jack into your TV, configure the Live Mix adaptor and make sure that the volume sliders are set to your liking. The wires are included in the box are very long, which is great ifyou’re sitting far away from your TV and console, but a little messy if you’re close by.

Even with the minor issues in mind, once you’ve set it up and are ready to go, you are going to love the SteelSeries Siberia V2 headset. If you can afford it and take your gaming seriously, this headset is a must have, continuing SteelSeries’ legacy of fantastic products.
