Super Mario Wii U To Be Shown At E3

UPDATE: Nintendo has now confirmed to Eurogamer that they will be showcasing a new Super Mario game for the Wii U at E3 2012.

The man behind Super Mario Shigeru Miyamoto has reportedly said to Spanish newspaper El Mundo that Nintendo are preparing to showcase a new Super Mario game for the Wii U at E3.

In an interview with the paper (interview highlights are can be seen at NeoGAF) Miyamoto stated that the new Mario game will combine the use of both the tablet controller and your TV. He also added that he is interested in doing something with the Wii Music IP.

“It is always sad that something is not sold as well as expected. I think these negative experiences on a project is a thorn that is stuck, so we usually try to work the best idea or at least take it up and concretize it from an angle different for use in another title. [But] yes, I want to do more with that idea.”
