If you love indie games or retro platformers, Tobe’s Vertical Adventure will be right up your street. Having only just been released on the Steam store, it promises to provide hours of nostalgic platforming action, local co-op, and charming 16 bit retro graphics.
“Tobe’s Vertical Adventure is an indie, retro, platformer starring Tobe, the overly devoted gamer who’s been forced on a treasure hunt by his materialistic crush, Nana. The big headed duo will travel back and forth in the crumbling caves in search of treasures while rescuing fluffy animals, making you scream kawaii ne~ along the way. With 2 unique characters and a total of 4 islands and 16 levels to explore, Tobe’s Vertical Adventure shall bring you back to the 16-bit era.”
TVA has already received a large amount of praise, allegedly possessing a likeliness to the Mario Bros on the original Nintendo. You can also play as Tobe’s crush, Nana, containing another unique story line and move sets. Like most games TVA is best played with two people, however it currently only supports local co-op (we are unsure if Hamachi can provide a workaround).
Tobe’s Vertical Adventure can be purchased for a wallet friendly £3.14 from the Steam Store, so is worth a risk even if it doesn’t appear to be your cup of tea. Either way, we will certainly be picking it up as a stunning little time filler!
