Christmas is dead
Gone are the joyous month’s of December, replaced by grey wet misery, but games are here to help us forget the tedium of life. Happy New Year, folks!
Burnout Paradise HD Remaster releasing March
Rumours were amidst at the tail-end of last year regarding a remastered version of Burnout Paradise coming to Xbox One and PS4 but now the rumour mill has been given another crank (I that’s how mills work). Gematsu announced last night that a Burnout Paradise remaster was, in fact, releasing on PS4 March, 16th for around £26. This announcement only mentions a PS4 version, however, with Xbox One being a complete write-off in Japan this is to be expected and I’d bet my left nut we’ll be seeing it on Xbox One too.
The announcement hasn’t been officially confirmed yet but with multiple sources backing up the rumour it’s looking highly likely this is the real deal. Assumption would lead me to think that this will be the ultimate version of Burnout Paradise with all the bundled DLC. What’s also interesting is the usage of HD in the title as the previous game was in fact in HD. Maybe this means we’ll be seeing a proper 1080p version or even a 4K update seeing as that’s all the rage at the mo. Regardless I can’t wait to blast down the streets of Paradise City again!
Fortnite goes silent in latest event
This week has seen a new Sneaky Silencer mode brought to Fortnite with forced silenced weapons and more bush for people to enjoy. The stealth mode is available to play through to the 8th of Jan so you’ve still got the weekend to ninja the fuck out of the game. Whilst the stealth mode is only here for a few more days it looks like the brand-new silenced pistol is here to stay. The pistol can be found in chests, supply drops and even on the floor but is flagged as a legendary rarity so don’t expect fistfuls of pistols when you’re playing.
Monster Hunter has final beta for PS4
The final Monster Hunter beta will take place between the 19th and 22nd of January and will be the last chance for you to check out the game before its release on the 26th of this very month. Unfortunately for Xbox One gamers, this beta is only available for PS4 (sorry!). The beta content looks largely similar to the previous containing 4 missions:
“The Insatiable Nergigante”
Nergigante Hunt
Locale: Wildspire Waste
“Great Devourer, Great Jagras”
Great Jagras Hunt
Locale: Ancient Forest
“Wildspire Rampage”
Barroth Hunt
Locale: Wildspire Waste
“The Ancient Forest Menace”
Anjanath Hunt
Locale: Ancient Forest
Beta players will also unlock some bonuses for the final game. These come in the shape of custom facepaint and some handy items upon completing each of the four quests, exciting!
