Zelda DLC info has been announced! Remain calm, please.
Zelda: Breath of the Wild DLC 1
If you’re getting bored of Zelda, fret not. Actually, fret so, because rumour has it the game simply cannot cast boredom on its players. Zelda: Breath of the Wild DLC 1 details have been announced and it’s shaping up to be a tidy little package. The biggest addition to the game will be the new “Trial of the Sword” dungeon. In Trial of the Sword, you’re stripped bare of all and have to fight your way through 45 rooms of enemies. And upon completion, you’ll receive a permanent upgrade to the Master Sword. Other cool features are introduced such as hard mode, where enemies increase in strength and regain health during combat. A bunch of wearables are also thrown into the mix, including Majora’s Mask. Also, the Korok mask will now vibrate when you’re next to a Korok seed. A bit of a kick in the Korok’s if you’ve already collected 900 of them, though. And finally, Hero’s Path Mode, which adds an overlay to your map showing the journey you’ve taken over the last 200 hours. That’s pretty cool.
Amazong info about Darksiders III
Amazon has given THQ a rest today, deciding to announce Darksiders III themselves. It’s rumoured to have been in development for some time now but we can pretty much guarantee that is a cert now. It’s been listed on the Amazon’s US site with a release date of December 31st, 2018 but that should obviously be taken with a pinch of salt, as retailers tend to do this prior to getting an actual release date. Tiny bits of info were also attached to the listing, including the following:
- Play as FURY – a mage who must rely on her whip and magic to restore the balance between good and evil on Earth!
- Harness FURY’s magic to unleash her various forms – each granting her access to new weapons, moves and traversal abilities
- Explore an open-ended, living, free-form game world in which FURY moves back and forth between environments to uncover secrets while advancing the story
- Defeat the Seven Deadly Sins and their servants who range from mystical creatures to degenerated beings
- Darksiders signature art style – expansive post-apocalyptic environments that take the player from the heights of heaven to the depths of hell, dilapidated by war and decay and overrun by nature
Expect to see something announced, officially, now. A trailer has been released to accompany the leak.

Blood runs through their veins
But that’s not where the similarities end when it comes to Code Vein and Dark Souls. From the off, Code Vein was teased with the tagline “Prepare to Dine”, obviously a play on Dark Souls’ “Prepare to Die”, so you’d expect the game to smell a bit similar. Judging by the trailer it reeks of it. The new trailer gives insight into the gameplay and aesthetic of the stylised, blood-soaked World, laden with enemies that, in themselves, look similar to Dark Souls. It would, of course, be unfair to compare every aspect of the trailer to DS, but Bandai Namco kind of opened themselves up to it. There are a couple of things that do look to deter from the Soul’s series games, however. Firstly the art style. The stark, yet beautifully looking, environments tinged with cartoon-esque anime flair definitely contrast to Soul’s dark undertone. Secondly, there will be a companion system which adds an element of strategy to the combat. Who will you pick to complement your play style? In short, Anime + Dark Souls = Code Vein. I’m sure there will be a market for that combo.
